Titans’ Will Levis had corrective eye surgery in June

Ahead of his first season in the NFL, Tennessee Titans second-round pick and quarterback, Will Levis, did something to improve his eyesight.

The Kentucky product, who used to wear contact lenses, told ESPN’s Turron Davenport on Wednesday that he had a surgical procedure in June to fix his  nearsightedness.

The procedure included “EVO Visian Implantable Collamer Lenses” that were implanted in Levis’ eye through a small incision.

“I’ve been seeing it a lot better in comparison to the spring,” Levis revealed. “Obviously I’ve had more reps at this level now, but the eyesight is a big part of it.”

This wasn’t a decision Levis made lightly, though, as the rookie signal-caller did his research before choosing the approach he’d go with.

“I needed to be really careful with the decision,” he said. “Being a quarterback, my vision, how I see the field is everything.”

As Levis prepares to embark on his first regular season in the NFL, he’s set to be one of two backups to quarterback Ryan Tannehill, along with fellow signal-caller, Malik Willis.

However, his exact spot on the depth chart remains unknown, as head coach Mike Vrabel did not name the official No. 2 quarterback when asked recently.

Barring an official announcement in the next week-plus, we may not know who the first player off the bench is at quarterback until Tannehill gets hurt, which hopefully never happens.
