Titans’ Taylor Lewan talks concussion, Chris Broussard, Michigan vs. Michigan State

Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan will be returning to action in Week 8, the first game he has played since suffering a scary concussion during the Week 6 win versus the Buffalo Bills.

Before practice on Friday, Lewan talked about the injury, which had him laying unconscious on the football field for minutes, and ultimately led to him being placed on a stretcher and carted off.

“The reason why they put me on a stretcher was they couldn’t wake me up,” Lewan said, per Terry McCormick of Titans Insider. “Ben (Jones) jokes that I was snoring on the field. I just knocked myself out. My first thought when I woke up was I knew I couldn’t move, but I’ve never had the feeling – thank God – of extremities feeling different. I had a bunch of people around me, and my first thought was I feel terrible for my wife.”

After the win over the Bills, FS1’s Chris Broussard wrongly said that the Bills were missing Lewan from their lineup, which hurt their chances of converting on a fourth-and-1 near the goal line at the end of the game.

Lewan roasted Broussard a bit for his blunder.

“I got knocked out so hard I played for the Bills for a couple of snaps. I was torched out there,” Lewan joked. “Yeah, man, you’ve got to take an ‘L’ on that, might have to take a little pay deduction after that little comment. And the thing too, it’s not like their left tackle is a slob, like Dion Dawkins is a good tackle in the league. It’s not like he’s some ‘send-em-on-in’ guy, you know what I’m saying? He’s a dude, so… It’s an honest mistake, I think it’s funny, and I think everyone was destroying him on the old Twittersphere, so it was a good deal.”

Last but not least, Lewan, whose alma mater is Michigan, had a message for the upcoming Michigan versus Michigan State game on Saturday:
