Titans’ Taylor Lewan owns his putrid Week 1 performance

Perhaps nobody on the Tennessee Titans had a worse day than left tackle Taylor Lewan during his team’s 38-13 Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

Lewan’s 2021 debut was stained by stud edge rusher Chandler Jones, who easily beat the Titans’ left tackle for at least a pair of sacks in the contest. Tennessee’s left tackle even heard some boos from fans upon re-entering the game after being sidelined with cramps during the second half.

In fairness to Lewan, this was his first regular season game back after missing the majority of last season with a torn ACL and he had quite the difficult assignment.

However, expectations for Lewan are rightly always going to be high regardless of the situation if he’s out there, and there’s no doubt he has to do far better.

After the game, Lewan took to Twitter to own his awful performance, as he usually does when he plays as poorly as he did on Sunday.

Hopefully things will get better for Lewan in the weeks ahead or else the Titans are going to have a tough time keeping Ryan Tannehill upright.

Lewan and the Titans will look to rebound in Week 2 when they travel to the unfriendly confines of CenturyLink Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
