Titans take Houston OL in Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft

The Tennessee Titans team we saw in 2019 was far more put-together than any other 9-7 team we’ve seen in recent history and was absolutely rolling by the time its unlikely story came to an end in the AFC Championship Game.

Tennessee will look to make yet another run in the playoffs in the 2020 season and are just a few small tweaks away from being a Super Bowl contender.

For NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah, that means taking an offensive lineman in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. More specifically, Houston O-lineman Joshua Jones, with the No. 29 overall pick.

“It looks as if the Titans will likely lose right tackle Jack Conklin in free agency,” he wrote. “Jones would slide right into that spot.”

Jeremiah is right. The loss of a player like Conklin brings with it an immediate need the Titans will certainly feel the impact of if it’s not addressed.

The network’s Chad Reuter also had the Titans taking Jones in an earlier mock draft.

“The Titans will want a tough-minded right tackle to replace free agent Jack Conklin if he changes addresses,” he wrote. “Jones plays nasty and could easily swing to that side of the line.”

The 6-foot-5, 311-pound Jones started 36 games for the Cougars between 2016 and 2018 after redshirting in 2015.
