Titans signing LB Joe Jones to practice squad

The Tennessee Titans had a busy Monday afternoon. On top of trading All-Pro safety Kevin Byard, Tennessee also decided to sign linebacker Joe Jones to the practice squad, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Jones spent some time with the Titans in 2021 and 2022, playing in 24 games and totaling 24 tackles over that span.

The Northwestern product is mostly known for his special teams ability, and that’s the role he will likely help to fill now that he’s back in two-tone blue.

Jones has only recorded 100 defensive snaps over his entire career, 64 of which came as a member of the Titans. However, the veteran linebacker has tallied a whopping 1,665 special teams snaps over his six year career.

Prior to joining Tennessee, Jones also spent time with the Denver Broncos, while also having short stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys.

The veteran linebacker has recorded a combined total of 55 tackles since entering the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2017.
