Titans select K’Lavon Chaisson in Touchdown Wire’s latest mock draft

The Tennessee Titans have some promise within the defense, with Harold Landry particularly shining at edge rusher. Landry has steadily come into his own, and is expected to be even more of a force heading into the 2020 season.

The signing of Vic Beasley, the former Atlanta Falcon, could also pay dividends moving forward, and Kamalei Correa could be worth much more than his underrated status makes him appear.

But still, the question remains, do the Titans need more on the edge to finally go all the way in 2020?

Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire seems to think so, mocking LSU outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson to the Titans in the first round at No. 29 overall.

“While Harold Landry III has showed elements of a breakout edge-rusher, perhaps Vic Beasley can add something as a free-agent acquisition, and Kamalei Correa is an underrated depth guy, any team looking to make a Super Bowl run needs as much edge pressure as possible. The Titans could use more of it, and while Chaisson has a lot of raw elements to his game, he’s reminiscent of another former LSU pass-rusher — Danielle Hunter of the Vikings — in that he can bring trouble to any offense with his freakish athleticism, and he has the athletic potential to be a top-10 edge guy over time if he puts it all together. Hunter was a mystery player until he developed an array of pass-rush moves, and then, he became a force. Chaisson could follow that same track.”

If he’s is right in his comparison, Chaisson will be one of the Titans’ most effective draft selections in recent history.

Only time will tell how well Farrar’s predictions align with reality, though, and if the Tigers’ “sack guru” makes his way to Nashville in April.
