Titans select David Ojabo in Pro Football Focus mock draft

The Tennessee Titans have a big decision to make on outside linebacker Harold Landry, who is coming off a career year that saw him total 12 sacks and play a key role in the revival of the team’s defense.

Landry will be hitting the free-agent market this offseason, and while the expectation is that he’ll be re-signed, there is no guarantee that will happen.

Should Tennessee fail to bring Landry back for any reason, the team will no doubt be in the market for an edge rusher, and Pro Football Focus’ Mike Renner has Tennessee addressing that potential need in his mock draft.

With the No. 26 overall pick, Renner has the Titans taking Michigan EDGE David Ojabo, who totaled 11 sacks last season. However, Renner correctly points out that Tennessee taking an EDGE will depend upon what happens with Landry.

“The Titans could have a big need on the edge if Harold Landry III walks in free agency. Ojabo would fill his shoes seamlessly with how athletic and flexible he is. The Titans deploy their edges on stunts a lot, and that’s where Ojabo could make an impact early on.”

If Landry returns, chances are the Titans won’t take an edge rusher until late in the draft, if at all. After all, they’d pretty much be set in that area with Landry, Bud Dupree and 2021 fourth-round pick, Rashad Weaver.

In that case, Tennessee would be wise to focus on the offensive side of the ball early on in the 2022 NFL draft, with needs at wide receiver, tight end, and along the offensive line.
