Titans safety Kevin Byard shows support of Oilers throwback uniforms

The thought of bringing back the Houston Oilers throwback uniforms has been a hot topic of conversation since Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt stoked the fire earlier this year.

This week, on the Official Titans Podcast, controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk expressed her interest in bringing out the uniforms.

Her only issue with it was the NFL’s “one helmet” rule, since the current, dark Titans helmet shell would definitely clash with the Oilers colors.

“That uniform without that helmet just wouldn’t make sense,” Strunk said on the podcast.

Titans safety Kevin Byard took to Twitter to show his support of getting the rule changed to make the throwbacks possible.

He tagged the NFL in a tweet, writing “Let’s get that rule changed ASAP!!”

We’re sure that Byard isn’t the only Titan interested in wearing the Oilers uniforms soon, but it’s likely he won’t get a chance to as long as the league retains its current rule.
