Titans safeties Kenny Vaccaro and Kevin Byard are training together in Texas this offseason

The Tennessee Titans don’t open training camp until next month, but that doesn’t mean players aren’t taking matters into their own hands in the meantime.

Titans safeties Kenny Vaccaro and Kevin Byard are training together in Austin, Texas to prepare for the upcoming 2019 season.

Vaccaro invited Byard to the area to continue building their relationship and to establish further “chemistry.”

“It’s a sign of brotherhood,” Byard said in a report by the team’s Jim Wyatt. “Not only is it a sign of friendship, but it’s also a sign that it’s not just about what’s on the field, but it’s about building that bond and friendship off the field. And I’m sure that will translate on the field as far as wanting to fight for your brother. I think that is the main thing we are trying to instill here.”

Both players are expected to contribute to Dean Pees’ defense this year in a big way.

Vaccaro has come into his own as a dominant player after replacing former Titans safety Johnathan Cyprien in 2018, while Byard enters the year as arguably the league’s best at the position.

If the pair can continue to build off the momentum of their performances last season, opposing defenses are going to be in for a difficult time as they face Tennessee.
