Titans’ Ryan Tannehill, Treylon Burks showing strong chemistry at OTAs

After the Tennessee Titans failed to adequately address the wide receiver position this offseason, quarterback Ryan Tannehill is set to heavily rely on second-year wideout, Treylon Burks.

Burks showed flashes of being a No. 1 receiver during his rookie campaign, but the Arkansas product missed a handful of games due to injury, one of which was a concussion resulting from a dirty but unflagged hit.

Looking ahead to this year, Burks figures to be peppered with targets, but part of that depends on his chemistry with Tannehill, which appeared to be strong during OTAs on Wednesday, as Jim Wyatt of Titans Online wrote.

“Quarterback Ryan Tannehill had another good day, and his favorite target continues to be receiver Treylon Burks,” he wrote. “It seems like Tannehill connects with Burks at the start of every period, and I haven’t seen Burks drop a ball intended for him yet in the open OTAs.”

After what was no doubt a shaky offseason for Burks in 2022, he has done a complete 180. Not only does he look to be in shape and performing well in drills, he also showed next-level maturity in his quest to get to OTAs on time.

With each passing day, Burks is looking more and more primed to be one of the Titans’ breakout players in 2023.
