Titans receive ‘B’ grade for David Long pick

With their final pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected West Virginia inside linebacker David Long at No. 188 overall.

While Long is definitely a developmental prospect, he does have a high ceiling and can be a force on special teams right out of the gate.

CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco gave the Titans a ‘B’ grade for the selection.

“Long plays out of control, and while that hair-on-fire styles leads to missed tackles, it also places him near the football frequently,” he wrote. “He’s a little undersized and better against the run than in coverage. Should stand out on special teams immediately.”

On his college career at WVU, Long racked up 246 tackles, 39.5 for loss, 12.5 sacks, ten pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

With the selection, Long became the fourth defensive player the Titans selected in the draft.

They also added defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, defensive back Amani Hooker and outside linebacker D’Andre Walker.

On offense, Tennessee picked up wide receiver A.J. Brown and offensive lineman Nate Davis.
