Titans’ reasons for optimism and concern vs. Jaguars in Week 14

The Tennessee Titans’ Week 14 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars is as close to a must-win spot as head coach Mike Vrabel’s team could get right now.

Not only are the Titans looking to snap a two-game losing streak that has seen two ugly performances in a row, but Tennessee also has a surging Indianapolis Colts team that is inching closer to its first-place spot.

Adding to that, the Titans currently sit in the No. 2 seed in the conference and have a real shot to grab a first-round bye despite all of their injuries if they can finish the 2021 campaign strong.

And that first-round bye has significance for multiple reasons. It would give the Titans home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, and it would allow more time for superstar running back Derrick Henry to return from injury.

On the surface, a matchup with a 2-10 Jaguars team looks like an easy win, but Titans fans know not to count their chickens before they hatch. Here are reasons for optimism and concern for Tennessee in Week 14.
