Titans RB Derrick Henry stands out on NFL All-Analytics team

Derrick Henry was at the heart of the Tennessee Titans’ success last year, propelling the team through the postseason after finishing out 2019 with the NFL’s rushing title (1,540 yards).

The Titans made the moves they needed to in order to keep him on board this offseason, placing a franchise tag on him after securing a quickly rising Ryan Tannehill by signing him to a four-year contract extension worth $118 million.

NFL Network’s Cynthia Frelund recently named Henry to her NFL All-Analytics Team.

He was the only Titans player to make the list.

“There is a lot of value in earning a new first down on first down, and no player earned more such rushing first downs in 2019 than Henry, who had 31,” she wrote. “He also added nine rushing touchdowns on first down (second-most in the NFL) and one more via the pass. Pro Football Focus measured his after-contact yards per rush at 4.2 (the best in the NFL among those with a minimum of 100 rushes, including playoffs), which helps characterize just how much value Henry added to the Titans’ offense. And that’s before factoring in the impact he had on the rest of the offense via the threat of his production.”

The Titans will seek the same level of production from Henry as they look to make another postseason run in 2020.
