Titans RB Derrick Henry looks up to Bills rusher Frank Gore

Running back Frank Gore will be one of the toughest players the Tennessee Titans defend against as they take on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

And the Titans’ top rusher has a lot of admiration for him, and met the veteran after a game last season.

“I love his game. He’s a true Hall of Famer, first ballot,” Derrick Henry said in a report by the team’s Jim Wyatt. “He’s a great back. Hopefully God blesses me (so I can play as long as him). He has played a long time, and he’s played good football for a long time as well.”

Both Henry and Gore have had successful careers — though Gore is in his 15th NFL season, while the former Alabama standout is going into his fourth year.

Gore is one of just four running backs to ever rush for more than 15,000 yards. Henry has also recorded some history of his own, tying the record for the longest run in league history in last year’s 30-9 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Thursday Night Football in Nashville.

This season, Henry has recorded 78 carries for 310 yards with three touchdowns. Gore has carried 61 times for 273 yards and two scores in 2019.

The two will meet again when the Titans and Bills will kick off at noon CT on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.
