Titans’ Rashad Weaver out for season after undergoing surgery

Just days after being placed on Injured Reserve, Tennessee Titans 2021 fourth-round pick and outside linebacker Rashad Weaver has reportedly underwent successful surgery on his broken right fibula.

And, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Weaver will miss the remainder of his rookie season.

It’s a tough blow for the promising rookie, who shined during the preseason, leaving Titans fans excited for his future.

Weaver had been quiet to start the 2021 campaign, though, as he was inactive in Week 1 and played a combined total of just 12 snaps in the two games that followed.

Regardless, the Titans now have two voids to fill on the roster after fellow outside linebacker Derick Roberson was placed on IR as well. As it stands now, Tennessee has just three outside linebackers on the active roster.

The Titans have added one potential depth piece with the signing of outside linebacker Sharif Finch to the practice squad. Finch previously spent two seasons with Tennessee after being an undrafted free agent signing in 2018.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Titans add one more to the position in the days ahead, whether it be to the practice squad or active roster.
