Titans’ Rashad Weaver is receiving some tough love from his mom

After getting drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft, the mother of edge rusher Rashad Weaver is beginning to add more responsibility to his plate off the field.

Weaver took to Twitter to reveal that his mother told him on her birthday that he is now responsible for paying his own phone bill, jokingly adding that she broke his trust and betrayed him.

“My mom decided today, on her birthday she wanted to break 23 years of trust and bond we had built…. By telling me I’m in the NFL and I need to pay for my own phone bill. I feel betrayed,” Weaver tweeted.

How dare she; our hearts go out to Weaver in this difficult time. We hope this revelation doesn’t impact his play on the field during his rookie season.

The decision is understandable, though, as Weaver just signed a four-year, $4.1 million rookie contract with the Titans. We think he’ll be just fine financially, even with this setback.
