Titans’ Rashaan Evans: Julio Jones ‘was like a mythical creature’

Having the opportunity to watch Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones, even in as something as simple as practice, has truly been a joy so far this offseason.

Titans linebacker Rashaan Evans echoed that sentiment after practice on Tuesday, saying that before he got a firsthand look at Jones, he described the veteran as a “mythical creature,” per AtoZ Sports Nashville’s Buck Reising.

“Julio was like a mythical creature when he was out there in Atlanta,” Evans said. “We knew exactly who he was, what he did, but we never got a chance to really see him. But now that he’s here now, it’s been amazing. To have that type of player in the locker room, and have that type of talent out here on the football field and watch how he practices, it just goes to show you exactly why he is who he is.”

Apparently, Jones hasn’t just been helping the players at his position or on his side of the ball. Evans notes that the veteran has given him some pointers, something he will try to pass down to younger players.

“I’m just trying to make sure, for me, as a player, just watch those things, use some of the things that he has told me as well, and try to pass them down on to younger guys… just having him on the team, it just makes your team even that much better.”

We’ve talked a lot about how much Jones will elevate the Titans’ offense, but clearly his impact is being felt in more ways than one.
