Titans place Kevin Byard on COVID-19 list

The Tennessee Titans announced they have placed safety Kevin Byard on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.

According to the league’s transaction wire, Byard, who is vaccinated, has tested positive for the virus. With the Titans on bye in Week 13, Byard should be able to return by Tennessee’s next game in Week 14 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As Byard is added to the list, the Titans removed linebacker Joe Jones from it. Tennessee now has three players on the list in Byard, backup quarterback Logan Woodside, and practice squad tight end Austin Fort.

In addition to those moves, the Titans have also released quarterback DeShone Kizer from their practice squad. Kizer was signed last week in the wake of Woodside being placed on the COVID-19 list.

Tennessee is back to having just two active quarterbacks, with Ryan Tannehill and Kevin Hogan, who is on the practice squad.
