Titans’ Peter Skoronski ‘definitely surprised’ by Northwestern hazing scandal

As Tennessee Titans 2023 first-round pick and offensive lineman Peter Skoronski continues to make his transition to the NFL, his alma mater, Northwestern, is in quite a bit of hot water.

A former football player for the school recently detailed several disturbing allegations of hazing that has since led to former Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald being fired.

Skoronski was asked about the matter that dominated headlines recently, and the former left tackle of the Wildcats said he was, “definitely surprised” by the situation but didn’t go into much more detail than that.

“Yeah, I’m definitely surprised by that,” Skoronski said, per Greg Arias of All Titans. “You know, I’ll just say, I had a great college experience. But I’m not going to comment much more on that, I’m just focusing on being a good teammate here as a Titan.

“That’s what I tried to focus on doing in college, too, so we’re just locked in on training camp right now.”

When pressed a bit further, Skoronski reiterated that his focus is on his current team, the Titans.

“Like I said, I’m really just focused on training camp right now. I’m not looking back at certain events of the past few years,” Skoronski said.

Looking ahead to his first season, Skoronski is projected to be the starter at left guard, a projection that was practically cemented by head coach Mike Vrabel after he stated the rookie would work exclusively at guard to start training camp.
