After being favored in their last two games, the Tennessee Titans are back to being underdogs in their matchup against the New England Patriots, which takes place at Gillete Stadium in Foxborough.
According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Titans are 5.5-point underdogs to the Patriots, with the over/under sitting at 44.5. The spread is the second-biggest of the Week 12 slate, while the over/under is tied for third-lowest.
Formerly the hottest team in the NFL, the Titans are coming off a Week 11 loss to the lowly Houston Texans, snapping their six-game winning streak and dropping their record to 8-3.
The longest current winning streak in the NFL now belongs to the red-hot Pats, a team that has won five straight contests and sits at 7-4.
Adding a little more juice to this game is the fact that the Pats can overtake the Titans in the AFC playoff picture. With a win, New England would land at No. 1 if the Baltimore Ravens lose, and No. 2 if the Ravens win.
Meanwhile, the Titans will hold on to their No. 1 seed with a victory, but could fall as far down as third in the conference should they lose and the Ravens win. A Titans and Ravens loss would put Tennessee at No. 2.
Tennessee is 7-4 against the spread and has hit the over in six of 11 contests. New England is also 7-4 against the spread in 2021, but have hit the over in just five of 11 games.
The Titans and Patriots will meet on Sunday, with kickoff set for noon CT.
