Titans OLB Kamalei Correa focusing in on ‘all-around’ improvement in fourth NFL season

The Tennessee Titans have had a number of lesser-known players make a name for themselves within the past couple of seasons.

One of these is outside linebacker Kamalei Correa – who isn’t exactly a household name – but has still been a significant contributor to the Titans’ defense.

And he’s looking to capitalize on his successes moving forward.

“It is year 4, so you have time to hone in and focus on the details from last season, the mistakes that I’ve made, the team has made, the defense has made,” he said in a report by the team’s Jim Wyatt.

But Correa is looking to better himself beyond the football field as well.

“I’m just trying to be better at everything – an all-around person, better teammate, a better father off the field and just a better ball player,” he said. “I am trying to work on my overall well-being and not just on the field because I think that is a big part it.”

In the upcoming 2019 season, Correa looks to be a prominent member of a group that includes former Miami Dolphins veteran Cameron Wake, Harold Landry, Sharif Finch, D’Andre Walker, Derick Roberson and others.

Correa was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens at No. 42 overall in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Titans on Aug. 28 of 2018 for a sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Over 13 appearances for Tennessee, Correa has recorded 27 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and five quarterback pressures.
