Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Cameron Wake has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday morning.
In Week 1’s 43-13 road win over the Cleveland Browns, Wake made his impact felt, recording two tackles, one assist, 2.5 sacks and a safety on Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
The veteran also registered his 100th career sack, making him the only active NFL players besides the Arizona Cardinals’ Terrell Suggs to do so.
Only 33 players in the history of the league have achieved the feat since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.
Expect to see Wake continue to be an integral part of the Tennessee defense as they face the Indianapolis Colts in Nissan Stadium on Sunday.
