Titans now favored over Broncos after Von Miller injury

After the Tennessee Titans opened up as 1.5-point underdogs to the Denver Broncos for Week 1, the Titans are now favored following the news of Von Miller’s injury.

Miller suffered a lower leg injury during Tuesday’s practice, and as a result he’s expected to have surgery that will end his 2020 season before it starts. That’s obviously a huge loss for Denver, which is why the line has moved.

Now, Tennessee is 2.5-point favorites over Denver, according to BetMGM, but the over/under remains at 40.5. The money line for the Titans is -129, while it sits at +110 for the Broncos.

Denver was already looking at their defense being at less than full strength prior to Miller’s injury, as fellow edge rusher Bradley Chubb is expected to be limited in Week 1 as he continues to make his way back from an ACL injury.

In their 2019 meeting, the Broncos were able to shut out the Titans, 16-0, and notched seven sacks even with Chubb out and Miller totaling a half of a sack. That just goes to show how talented Denver’s defense is, although the Titans are vastly improved on offense since then.

Clearly the Titans aren’t out of the woods yet, although Miller’s injury is certainly a big break for their chances of beating a Denver team that is historically great at home in Week 1.

Tennessee and Denver will kick off at 9:10 p.m. CT on September 14 at Empower Field at Mile High in what will be the second game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader.
