Titans move CB Malcolm Butler to injured reserve, re-sign CB Tye Smith

The Tennessee Titans placed cornerback Malcolm Butler on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, also re-signing cornerback Tye Smith.

Butler came down on his wrist wrong in Sunday’s 30-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and will miss significant time with the injury.

In 2019, totaled 30 tackles, 10 passes defended and two interceptions — including a takeaway returned for a score.

Smith is a familiar face to Tennessee, appearing in four games this season before being waived on Saturday.

The Titans also made moves affecting the practice squad on Tuesday.

The team signed wide receiver Rashard Davis, and waived lineman Daniel Munyer. Davis was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, and has seen action for the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs as well.

The Titans are set to face the Chiefs at noon on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.
