Titans’ Mike Vrabel not thinking about job security after latest loss

The Tennessee Titans lost yet another game in ugly fashion in Week 11 with a 34-14 loss at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars, which drops their record to 3-7 on the season.

Tennessee remains winless on the road in 2023 and it has been more than a calendar year since their last one. During that span, the Titans are a pathetic 3-14.

The Titans’ struggles have led many to wonder if head coach Mike Vrabel is the man to lead this team moving forward, or at the very least, many believe his seat is starting to warm up.

Granted, talent is Tennessee’s biggest issue right now, but Vrabel certainly isn’t blameless with some of the decisions he and his coaching staff have made this year. Not to mention, this team sorely lacks discipline.

When asked about his thoughts on his job security, Vrabel said that isn’t something he’s thinking about.

“I don’t try to concern myself with that,” Vrabel said, per Paul Kuharsky. “I’ll let you guys fire me each week, or not fire me — I apologize, I appreciate your question, I do. I will always understand that. We have to improve and we have to win, those are things we have to do.”

When asked why the team can’t get better results on a weekly basis, Vrabel pointed to the mistakes that have plagued this team all season long, like turnovers and penalties, two things we saw once again on Sunday.

“Sometimes we do have some results and it doesn’t translate into victories because of some of the mistakes,” Vrabel explained. “I have to go a great job of trying to continue to show us the things that we did well, the things that are minor mistakes and then the ones that get us beat.”

While I don’t think Vrabel is in danger of being fired, the results over the last year should make his seat warm.
