Titans’ Mike Vrabel gives update on return date, looming roster cuts

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel appears set to return to work on Wednesday after having been quarantined for 10 days due to testing positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 22.

While Vrabel didn’t specifically say his quarantine period would be done, he did say, “I’m fantastic, feeling great, and I’m excited to get back to work tomorrow,” during a morning presser on Tuesday.

Vrabel is one of 12 Titans currently in the COVID-19 protocols, a list that includes three coaches and nine players. Right guard Nate Davis was the latest player to be added on Monday.

The Titans have to whittle their roster down to 53 by 3 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, but Vrabel noted that the process of final cuts, which really began a few days ago, will start earlier in the day and continue after practice.

With nine players on the COVID-19 list, the Titans will be able to keep some extra bodies, as those on the list can stay on the roster without counting towards the 53 until they are activated.

Vrabel said that he didn’t anticipate anyone coming off the list today.

Keep it locked in with Titans Wire all day. We’ll have the entire 53-man roster after it is announced, and instant reaction following that.
