Titans’ Mike Vrabel explains his tweet about ruling in Chiefs-Broncos

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel made some waves on Sunday night when he replied to a tweet from NFL Officiating explaining a questionable ruling in the contest between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs.

The play in question saw Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce appear to fumble the ball after making a catch, but the ultimate ruling was that Kelce didn’t complete the process of a catch, therefore it wasn’t a fumble.

It seems Vrabel disagreed with the call, and so much so that he replied to the tweet with a page from the rulebook that defines what a catch is.

On Monday, Vrabel explained his tweet, saying he was just reminding people what the definition of a catch is:

“It was just my opportunity to sit there and be a fan and watch, and I felt like it was a good opportunity to remind everybody the rules for the process of a catch, that’s all that was,” Vrabel said. “I have that on my phone; that’s on my home screen, the rulebook. I took a screenshot, figured out how to tweet it out so everybody that followed could understand what the process of a catch was, and what it isn’t.”

After a bye in Week 13, the Titans will return to action against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.
