Titans’ Mike Vrabel addresses Isaiah Wilson’s placement on NFI list

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the situation involving 2020 first-round pick and offensive tackle, Isaiah Wilson, who was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list on Wednesday.

Wilson, who has had a tumultuous rookie campaign to say the least, is apparently working through some personal issues, according to a statement from general manager Jon Robinson that was released on Wednesday night.

Vrabel basically echoed Robinson’s statement on Wilson when talking to the media prior to Thursday’s practice, per Drake Hills of the Tennessean.

“Everybody has things that they have to work through,” Vrabel said. “We put Isaiah on the reserve list to allow him to handle those things, hopefully in a manner which would allow him to come back and be a part of our football team.”

Vrabel also added that Wilson is “going to do his part to help himself” and the team is “going to do our part to help him.”

Wilson was finally active for the first time all season in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens but saw his first action during the Week 12 game versus the Indianapolis Colts, where he played on four snaps.

The Georgia product was then suspended for the Week 13 game against the Cleveland Browns for violating team rules, was activated Monday, and then placed on the NFI list on Wednesday.

It would be surprising to see Wilson again this season, but at this point there’s no telling what will come next in this saga.
