Titans LT Taylor Lewan suspended 4 games for violating NFL’s PED policy

Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the 2019 season for violating the league’s policy against the use of performance-enhancing substances.

He took to Twitter this afternoon to announce the suspension and thank the fans and the team for their support:

He also took to Instagram to post the results of a polygraph examination that he claims shows he didn’t knowingly use the substance, ostarine.

Because this occurred in the offseason, Lewan is still allowed to take part in all preseason activities. The suspension will take effect when the Titans trim down to a 53-man roster. The suspension will be unpaid in compliance with league rules.
According to a source in a report by A to Z Sports Nashville, Lewan “went to the independent anti-doping laboratory AEGIS Sciences Corporation in Nashville on Wednesday July 10th to show proof of supplements he was taking. The left tackle brought in a total of 27 supplements when he was only supposed to have 23 registered supplements.”
UPDATE:
ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted this afternoon that the league is still awaiting the results of Lewan’s “B” sample, so the suspension is not official. If the second sample matches his failed “A” sample, the suspension will be levied.
