The Tennessee Titans lost one of the most prominent members of their fan base on Thursday when superfan and Bussin’ With The Boys staff member Matt Neely passed away.
Neely was well-known for making memes and content for Titans fans, along with helping out in marketing and social media for left tackle Taylor Lewan and former Titans player Will Compton’s podcast.
Thousands of people have are mourning Neely’s tragic death, and the event hits close to home for Lewan, who worked so closely with him.
Those who knew Neely remember him as a funny, caring person who “took everything but nothing seriously.
“He was an amazing guy, he cared so much,” Lewan said. “He shotgunned nine beers before every single game (in memory of Steve McNair).”
Moving forward with the podcast is going to be different in his absence.
“He was super special. I’m going to miss that guy a whole lot. Just with the podcast, getting to know him, he lived for that podcast… he probably worked harder than all of us did.”
The cause of Neely’s death is still unknown.
