Titans LT Taylor Lewan reflects on 2019 NFL Draft experience

The 2019 NFL Draft drew a crowd of over half a million people in Nashville, setting a new attendance record for the event.

The scene was particularly interesting for left tackle Taylor Lewan, who says he had grown men calling him “daddy” as he made his way down Broadway.

“Weirdly enough the highlight for me was walking down Broadway and literally getting bombarded by people and thinking ‘I’m an offensive lineman and people are getting excited.’ And I’ve got grown men over the age of 50 calling me “daddy.”

Lewan says he doesn’t have an issue with it, but would prefer if you dropped the ‘-dy’.

Regardless of what you call Lewan, he’s grateful for the love the city has shown him since being drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2014.

“But the whole experience, I think that really puts things in perspective, and I think a lot of people shy away from that when they get a little bit of attention. It’s a hell of a compliment to be cherished or liked for what you do.”
