Titans LT Taylor Lewan officially suspended for first four games of 2019

Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan has been officially suspended for the first four games of the 2019 NFL season.

The 28-year-old lost his appeal after violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, as the NFL announced on Friday.

Lewan claimed in a heartfelt video to fans that he had unknowingly ingested Ostarine, and posted the results of a polygraph test he passed afterward. Even so, Lewan’s suspension was upheld like most others so frequently are.

With this, Lewan will still be allowed to participate in preseason games and practices, but won’t be allowed to rejoin the Titans’ active roster until after the Week 4 contest against the Atlanta Falcons.

Tennessee has done a fine job anticipating this, experimenting within the offensive line and giving the backups a chance to get in on some additional action.

Offensive tackle Dennis Kelly, who did more than an adequate job in place of an injured Jack Conklin last year, will assume Lewan’s position over the duration of his suspension.
