Titans LT Taylor Lewan and OL Rodger Saffold already forging friendship in free agency

The Tennessee Titans are bringing a number of new faces to Nashville in 2019, and it looks like some of those are already being well-received by current players.

Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan wasted no time interacting with offensive lineman Rodger Saffold, who will join the Titans in the upcoming season.

Not long after the announcement was made that the Titans would be signing Saffold to a four-year, $44 million deal, Lewan asked the fellow lineman if he wanted to “be best friends.”

Saffold should bring some much-needed help to a struggling Titans o-line in the company of Lewan, and was effective in Los Angeles last year.

According to Pro Football Focus, Saffold graded out as the ninth-best guard in the league in 2018, and posted the sixth-best run blocking grade.

These numbers place him well ahead of Tennessee’s Quinton Spain, who ranked 35th among guards, and Josh Kline, who finished the season at No. 50 overall.
