Titans looking to use Rashaan Evans in pass rush more

During a Zoom call on Tuesday, Tennessee Titans inside linebackers coach Jim Haslett said he anticipates using Rashaan Evans in a pass-rushing role more.

“I’d expect to see Rashaan Evans more in pass rush,” Haslett said, per Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky.

“He has good rush ability and can impact the game when he’s doing those things. We try to move him around a bit and do different things with Rashaan,” said Haslett, via Turron Davenport of ESPN.

One thing is for sure: the Titans need to figure out how to get the most out of Evans soon as they gear up for another run into January.

It’s been an underwhelming first half of the season for Evans, who has looked out of place at times and hasn’t played with the same game speed we are used to seeing out of the former first-round pick.

The Titans may want to keep Evans involved on third downs — he routinely comes off the field in favor of their big nickel package.

Besides the Week 9 outing versus the Chicago Bears, the Titans have struggled to generate pressure all season.

Evans was used as a pass-rusher at the University of Alabama, so this isn’t a Hail Mary. However, we have heard this song and dance before from the Titans, so I’m not getting my hopes up.
