Titans lead NFL in contract value on IR, PUP and NFI lists

Going into Week 4, no team in the NFL has more contract value on injured reserve and other lists than the Tennessee Titans.

According to Jason Fitzgerald of Over the Cap, Tennessee has a grand total of $47.3 million sitting on the injured reserve, PUP and NFI lists, the most league-wide.

After a 2021 season in which Tennessee was plagued by injuries en route to fielding an NFL record 91 players, things are picking up where they left off last season.

While Tennessee doesn’t have anyone on the NFI list, they do have 11 players on injured reserve and another two on the PUP list.

The 11 players on IR include linebacker Chance Campbell, running back Trenton Cannon, defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand, tight end Tommy Hudson, defensive back Chris Jackson, offensive lineman Jamarco Jones, outside linebacker Harold Landry, left tackle Taylor Lewan, wide receiver Racey McMath, cornerback Elijah Molden and safety A.J. Moore.

Players on the PUP list include linebacker Monty Rice and kicker Caleb Shudak, both of whom can be activated after Week 4.

Of the 11 players on injured reserve, four have already been ruled out for the season, including Landry, Lewan, Cannon and Moore.

Thanks to the injuries and overall ineffectiveness of some of the team’s depth players, the Titans have a better shot than most to break the aforementioned record they set in 2021.
