Titans LB Derrick Morgan announces retirement

Tennessee Titans linebacker Derrick Morgan is retiring after nine seasons in the NFL.

Morgan took to social media on Monday to announce his decision, saying he wanted to leave the game on his own terms and that he “had a strong inclination” that 2018 would be his last season.

The 30-year-old is now looking forward to making an impact off the football field.

Morgan was originally selected at No. 16 overall out of Georgia Tech in 2010, and spent the entirety of his career with Tennessee before becoming a free agent.

He started 106 of 118 games and racked up 305 tackles, 44.5 sacks, 25 passes defensed and five forced fumbles.
