Titans’ Kristian Fulton gets Logan Ryan’s old number; Twitter reacts

If there was any doubt that Logan Ryan is not coming back to Nashville in 2020, the Tennessee Titans’ jersey number reveal for their rookies pretty much sealed the deal.

Among the numbers given out to their 2020 NFL Draft picks, second-round pick Kristian Fulton was assigned No. 26, which is the same number Ryan has worn his entire career dating back to his days with the Patriots.

Of course, it was almost a foregone conclusion that Ryan wasn’t re-signing with the Titans as he remains on the open market, but now that his number has been given to someone else, we can hammer it home.

Ryan was a class act and a solid player in his three seasons in Nashville but simply didn’t fit with the direction the franchise is going.

Titans general manager Jon Robinson is trying to get younger and faster in his secondary to better match up with a team like the Chiefs, who sport an obscene amount of speed in their receiving corps.

And the speedy Fulton seems to be his solution at slot corner, Ryan’s old position.

Furthermore, Ryan’s reported demand for at least $10 million per year is simply too high of a price to pay when you consider his inability to keep up with faster receivers.

After the news was announced that Fulton was getting No. 26, Twitter shared the same reaction we had: Ryan is finished in Tennessee.
