Titans’ Kristian Fulton among highest-graded CBs in single coverage

Tennessee Titans cornerback Kristian Fulton has been sensational to start the season, but did you know he has been one of the best in the NFL in single coverage?

Well, if not, you do now.

According to Pro Football Focus, Fulton has registered a single-coverage grade of 84.4, the second-highest mark among cornerbacks in the NFL.

The only cornerback with a higher grade than Fulton in that area is the Arizona Cardinals’ Byron Murphy Jr., who has notched an 88.1 after four contests. The Chicago Bears’ Jaylon Johnson, who was selected ahead of Fulton in the 2020 NFL draft, is third with an 82.1.

Fulton struggled a bit in coverage in Week 4 versus the New York Jets, but he did notch his first interception of the season and has been much better than anyone could have expected after four games.

The Titans’ best corner is allowing completions into his coverage at a 46.2 percent clip, and his passer rating allowed is a more than respectable 86.9. Fulton’s coverage grade of 70.1 is the best among Tennessee’s corners.

And, when you compare his numbers to those of fellow cornerback Janoris Jenkins, who is off to a rough start to his first year in Nashville, you appreciate what Fulton is doing even more.
