Wide receiver Kalif Raymond was a revelation for the Tennessee Titans as a deep threat in the passing offense last season despite limited opportunities, but he also thrived in the return game.
According to Pro Football Focus, Raymond earned the eighth-best grade among kick returners in 2019.
Raymond assumed the kick return duties for the Titans in Week 8 and went on to average 22.4 yards per return. Had he qualified, Raymond would have been tied for the ninth-best average in the NFL.
When his number was called in the passing game, Raymond came up big.
While he only had 10 catches the entire season (including playoffs), he made the most of every one, totaling 21.5 yards per catch. His 45-yard touchdown grab in the playoffs against the Baltimore Ravens was among the biggest plays of the 2019 campaign for Tennessee.
In 2020, Raymond figures to have a great shot to make the roster once again. In fact, in our training camp wide receiver preview, he was among the roster locks because of the impact he made.
The Titans are in need of a receiver who can stretch the field, and Raymond has already proven he can do just that. On top of that, his versatility as a returner only adds to his value and makes him worthy of a roster spot.
