Titans’ Jeffery Simmons wastes no time recruiting Bobby Wagner

The Tennessee Titans might have a need at the inside linebacker position going into free agency and one high-profile potential option has become available.

According to multiple reports, the Los Angeles Rams and linebacker Bobby Wagner have mutually agreed to part ways. The veteran linebacker will now officially become a free agent when the new league year begins on March 15.

Wagner’s availability is notable because the Titans are staring at a situation in which they may need two new starters at the position he plays.

Zach Cunningham was cut by the team on Wednesday, and there’s no guarantee David Long, who is a pending free agent, will be back.

Even if Long returns, the Titans are looking at having to depend on 2021 third-round pick, Monty Rice, who the jury is still very much out on.

Entering his aged 33 season, Wagner remains at the top of his game and one of the best at his position in the NFL. He would provide a massive upgrade for Tennessee if acquired.

And that fact apparently isn’t lost on Titans star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, who wasted no time recruiting Wagner on Twitter.

There will be plenty of competition for Wagner’s services, which will only drive up his price. Wagner should garner a deal around at least what he previously received from the Rams, which was $10 million annually.
