After serving as the Vikings tight ends coach last season, it was reported earlier this month that Todd Downing wouldn’t return to the Vikings.
It didn’t take long for Downing, a Minnesota native, to find a new team. The Titans have hired Downing as their tight ends coach.
It’s probably not where Downing expected his career after being the Raiders offensive coordinator in 2017. But that experiment went poorly and the 38-year-old will look to build up his resume again.
It also wasn’t much of a surprise Downing didn’t return to the Vikings after they hired Brian Pariani (as part of the Gary Kubiak package) as tight ends coach. That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement for Downing.
