The Tennessee Titans fell just short of a Super Bowl LIV appearance with a 35-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
But it was still a solid season after remarkable turnaround led by quarterback Ryan Tannehill after a 2-4 start.
Multiple players also stepped up in 2019, including linebacker Harold Landry.
We had been expecting to see Landry continue to come into his own least year, and he didn’t exactly fall short, becoming the team’s leader in quarterback pressures with a total of 30.
Defensive lineman Jurrell Casey led in that category on the 2018 season, pressuring the opposing signal-caller 50 times.
Landry also led in sacks (9.0) in comparison to Casey (7.0) last season, and was tied for the team leader in fumble recoveries with two. The veteran Casey also had a pair of fumble recoveries.
In 2018, Wesley Woodyard, Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan and Sharif Finch had one each in the category.
Landry is a player to keep an eye on moving forward as the Titans prepare to make another run for the Super Bowl in 2020, and finished out the 2019 season with 68 tackles, 12 for loss, 14 quarterback hits, nine sacks, one pass defensed and an interception over 16 games.
Heading into his third NFL season, he’s racked up 112 tackles, 17 for loss, 28 quarterback hits, 13.5 sacks, three passes defensed and an interception.
