Titans Foundation is donating $1 million for disaster recovery

The Tennessee Titans are stepping up in a big way after a deadly tornado outbreak devastated the Nashville area on Tuesday morning.

According to Erik Bacharach of the Tennessean, the Titans Foundation has made a donation of $1 million to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee in order to help with recovery efforts.

The Foundation will disperse the donation from the Titans to nonprofits across the state, working to provide immediate and long-term relief response to victims and their families.

Total donations have now exceeded $2.1 million.

The NFL Foundation has made a $250,000 donation to the Community Foundation in order to help schools start the process of re-building football fields and replacing equipment.

Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said she was encouraged by the outpouring of support for the people of Nashville in this difficult time.

“We are so encouraged about the amount of charity people have shown in the aftermath of Monday night’s tragedy,” Adams Strunk said. “As leaders in the community, we want to lend our help to this cause of healing and rebuilding. Together we will help our neighbors through this long and difficult process. We are hopeful that others will join us in supporting this effort any way they can.”

Our deepest sympathies continue to go out to those affected. It’s truly amazing to see the amount of volunteers who are helping the victims start the process of getting their lives back together.
