Titans expect OL Jack Conklin to ‘come back healthy and play his butt off’

A lot of question marks surround Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Jack Conklin.

The tackle seems to have been caught in a continuous recovery and rehab cycle for over a year as he’s attempted to bounce back from injuries.

To make matters worse for Conklin, he was quite frankly outplayed by fellow lineman Dennis Kelly when Kelly was forced to step up in his place while he was sidelined.

The Titans declined to pick up Conklin’s fifth-year option earlier in the offseason as well.

Titans offensive line coach Keith Carter expects Conklin to return at full capacity and compete to cement his place on the roster.

“He’s gonna come back and he’s gonna get thrown right back in the mix and we’ll see how it all shakes out,” he said. “But, the expectation is for Jack to come back healthy and play his butt off.”

It will be interesting to see how things work out for Conklin in Nashville this year as he enters what could ultimately be one of the most important seasons of his career.

The Titans will host their first training camp practice on July 26.
