Titans DT Jurrell Casey named a finalist for Strobel Direct Service Volunteer Award

Just as the Tennessee Titans are known for their work on the field, they’re equally recognized for their accomplishments off of it.

At the recent Strobel Volunteer Awards luncheon in the Nashville Music City Center, veteran defensive tackle Jurrell Casey was named a finalist for the Strobel Direct Service Volunteer Award.

The award pays recognition to Middle Tennessee volunteers for their efforts within the community.

The Long Beach, California native has long been involved in matters outside of football.

Casey has also been involved in peaceful protests against social injustice.

“It’s not necessarily about the anthem, that’s where everybody’s messing up,” he told CNN in 2018. “The way that the justice system treats minorities is the issue that we have.”

Last season, Casey was a force on the Titans’ defense as well, recording 36 tackles and seven sacks over 15 games.
