Titans designate kicker Ryan Succop to return from injured reserve, re-sign OLB Derick Roberson

The Tennessee Titans changed starting kicker Ryan Succop’s status from Reserve/Injured to Designated to Return on Wednesday.

With the move, Succop is still not eligible to play until Week 9’s contest against the Carolina Panthers.

But what it does mean is that Succop can get back to practicing with the team.

Succop has been sidelined due to a knee injury that saw him placed on Tennessee’s Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of the 2019 season, and has been on Injured Reserve.

Former Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey has taken the place of Succop in the past two matchups, and should continue that through Sunday’s home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Parkey replaced Cairo Santos after Santos missed four consecutive attempts against the Buffalo Bills earlier in the year.

The Titans also made the decision to re-sign outside linebacker Derick Roberson to the practice squad after waiving him on Tuesday.

The Titans face the Buccaneers at noon on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.
