Titans’ Derrick Henry named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his dominating performance during the overtime victory against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.

After a quiet Week 1, Henry returned to form, ripping off 182 yards and three scores on a career-high 35 carries. Adding to that, Henry also tallied a career-high six catches for 55 yards.

The Alabama product had what was easily the biggest play of the game when he exploded for a 60-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, a play that was desperately needed for a Tennessee team that was trailing 30-16.

With his standout performance, Henry now leads the NFL in rushing yards. The King has won back-to-back rushing titles and is looking to secure his third in a row, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished since Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith did it from 1991-93.

Henry and the Titans will be back in action on Sunday when they host the Indianapolis Colts at Nissan Stadium in Week 3.
