Titans’ defensive line group among youngest in NFL

Based on their current roster, the Tennessee Titans have one of the youngest defensive line groups in the NFL going into training camp.

According to The 33rd Team’s Ben Elsner, Tennessee’s big boys upfront total an average age of 24.68 years, making them the second-youngest group in the NFL.

No other Titans defensive unit ranked as a top-five youngest or oldest, but the Titans do sport the youngest group of tight ends and the fourth-oldest offensive line ahead of the 2021 campaign, as we outlined yesterday.

Defensive line is one of the areas where the Titans still have to figure things out, particularly at nose tackle after DaQuan Jones signed with the Carolina Panthers in free agency earlier this offseason. Tennessee does have two locked-in starters in Jeffery Simmons and Denico Autry, though.

The players with the best chance to take over those snaps in our mind are 2020 UDFA Teair Tart, 2020 fifth-round pick Larrell Murchison, and veteran Abry Jones, all of whom will battle it out in training camp later this month.

The Titans revealed their 2021 training camp schedule on Friday, which includes the dates and times for every practice, as well as when head coach Mike Vrabel will speak to the media.

The bad news is that there won’t be any training camp sessions open to the general public because of the ongoing construction at Saint Thomas Sports Park.
