Titans DC candidate Dennard Wilson garnering interest from other teams

The Tennessee Titans’ first known candidate for defensive coordinator is Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach, Dennard Wilson, who the Titans will reportedly request an interview with.

However, the Titans aren’t the only team interested in Wilson’s services, with at least two other teams being in the mix.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants are set for their second interview with Wilson, which means he’s a finalist for that job. In addition, the Los Angeles Rams also plan on speaking with him.

Prior to his stint with the Ravens, Wilson served as a defensive backs coach with the Rams, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles. He also held the title of pass-game coordinator with the latter two.

In Wilson’s first year as the DBs coach in Baltimore, the Ravens sported the No. 6 pass defense in the NFL. He also worked with a highly-touted defensive coordinator in Mike Macdonald.

One thing that could prevent all three of these teams from landing Wilson is Macdonald getting a head-coaching gig. If that happens, the Ravens would likely look to keep Wilson in Baltimore with a promotion to defensive coordinator.
