Titans could see Matt Barkley start at QB for Bills on Sunday

The Tennessee Titans may not face quarterback Josh Allen on Sunday.

The signal-caller suffered a nasty hit that knocked him out of action last week against the New England Patriots, and has still yet to clear concussion protocol.

Allen is considered questionable for Sunday.

If he’s not ready to go ahead of the Week 5 matchup, the Bills will have Matt Barkley in at quarterback instead.

Barkley feels settled in Buffalo’s system, and will be prepared to take the reins if called upon this week.

“I think this is the most comfortable I’ve felt with an offense at this point and I’m playing free really,” he said in a report by Buffalobills.com. “I’m taking what the defense gives me. Taking shots when I have to, but when it’s smart to, not really forcing anything.”

Barkley has appeared in 13 games since he entered the league in 2013, and is 183-of-307 passing for 10 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

In relief this season, Barkley has completed 9-of-16 pass attempts, with one interception.

The Titans and Bills are set to kick off at noon CT on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.
